Every so often a new development comes along in computing and communications which we suddenly find we can't live without. The fax, the hard disk, spreadsheets, cellular phones, the photocopier...
This is how we at Software Tool & Die think of The World.
A personal computer is useful to many of us. But a personal computer is limited to the activity on your desk. When attached to The World, suddenly your computer comes alive. You can use it to participate in world-wide discussions, ask technical questions or for a recipe, read the latest newswire information and a thousand other things you couldn't possibly do with your personal computer alone. Your computer becomes more than just a computer, it's an access point to a worldwide network of other computers.
The World is more than just a place to pick up information and ask some questions (although for many that will be more than enough!)
We are providing an information utility, a means for others to create new activities.
Just as telephones, electricity and other utilities created new businesses and ways to live, so will The World. We have become an information society, people trade information as a valuable commodity.
Information users trade everything from mailing lists to recipes to reviews of favorite books to technical information and consulting and training to data bases of just about anything and...the list is endless.
The World is a marketplace of ideas and information.
Our only goal is to enrich your world.
