The World's Local Modem Numbers
Due to the change to 10-digit dialing in Eastern MA all local
calls to our Brookline World dial-up number will require
you to have the area code programmed into your setup.
Here is how to do it.
MacOS with PPP/Remote Access, using World on the Web:
Re-run the World Internet Assistant, and enter the 10-digit phone number when prompted.
MacOS with PPP/Remote Access, not using World on the Web:
Open the PPP/Remote Access control panel, and edit the phone number.
MacOS with FreePPP
Open FreePPP setup,
Under the Accounts tab, highlight your World connection and click Edit,
Edit the phone number, Click OK.
