Amy G. Lindsay Fiction & Poetry
The stories and poems linked to this page were written for my
own enjoyment from my High School years to the present. Anything
posted within the last three months will have a
graphic in front of the title.
- Legolas
- With the release of The Lord of the Rings, I remembered this
poem about the elves leaving Middle Earth that I had written in High
School.
- Of Debris and Smoke
- I wrote this a few days after the World Trade Center tragedy.
- Learning Curve
- Almost a decade ago, a friend of mine had an idea for a book about
women's spirituality. She had asked for contributions. The book was
never finished, but Peggy Wilson and I resurrected it in an
abbreviated form and called it Missing
Words.
- I Call On You
- Another of the Missing Words poems,
written while my friend Peggy was in the hospital.
- Is There a Doctor in the
House?
- My Maine Coon tried his best to heal what was wrong with me, but
it took a while for the human to understand.
- Unexpected Gifts
- I posted several flying stories for rec.aviation. This one is
about my first flight with a passenger.
- Veni, Vidi...
- Another flying tale about my first cross-country flight.
- No Soap, Radio!
- I was plagued with bad luck as a student pilot...not to mention
a shyness about talking over the radio. This time, the radio struck
back.
- All the Wrong Reasons
- This story takes a minor character from the science fiction show
Earth 2 and explores his motivations for taking on the dangerous job
of ferrying colonists to a planet 20 light years away.
- Women of
"Chivalry"
- Rafael Sabatini wrote the novel "Chivalry" in 1935. He is
often criticised for how women are protrayed in his works simply
because he wrote adventure fiction. This article also appears on
The Rafael Sabatini
website.
- The Jeweled Peacock
- The Jeweled Peacock is a fairy tale I wrote with the intention of
adapting it for puppets.
