Yes, we live in a high dimension space yet much of our graphics are
confined to a flat world. This is a major challange for information
design. Tufte, _The Visual Display of Quantitative Information_ and
_Envisioning Information_, expresses it very well, and gives some example of
elegant solutions.

I have found the Scatter Plot Matrix to be extremely valuable, and
more easily understood by the average person, than more highpowered
tools such as Principal Components and Rotating Scatter Plots.
